Making Goûter: Art & Technology - Bidouille Made In Asia
The Kidimake workshops are for 8-11 years old children accompanied by an adult. The parent-child collaboration is a key component of the project. No need to have prior knowledge of the subject to participate, the only requisite is curiosity and wanting to create something!
In pairs with their parents, the 10-11 years old will be heading to Séoul where they’ll observe a 400 meter long marble run called Loop. One experimentation after another, they’ll defy the laws of gravity and build their own marble runs, which will get more and more complex. On the journey back, we’ll make a halt in Sweden to admire a weird but amazing machine composed of more than 2000 marbles…
Aspiring engineers, artists in the making, this activity is made for you!
The 8-9 years old will find their inspiration in Japan to learn more about Karakuris, cardboard cinetic constructions - as fascinating as they are funny- beloved by japanese mini-makers. After an introduction to understand gears, cams and levers of all types, each pair will build their own Karakuri and bestow upon them a power…
By the end of the journey, walking dolls, dancing puppets and other automats won’t have any more secrets for you.
Sign up by writing to kidimake@gmail.com. Please mention the child’s name and age, as well as the parent’s name
