IN RESIDENCY: PAN DAIJING

IN RESIDENCY: PAN DAIJING

Flux Laboratory is pleased to host in residence artist Pan Daijing, who will work on his creation Tissues, a production of the Centre d'Art Contemporain Genève for la Biennale de l'Image en Mouvement 2018.

Tissues is a live production composed by Pan Daijing, a breathtaking scene inhabited by opera singers, performers and dancers. The performance is held in a specific environment, challenged by the energies to be found at its core. Brutal as well as fragile, like a diffused and corrupt day dream, the device is full of incongruity and fappears like a bad omen. A profusion of violence, melancholy, sadness, tenderness and instances of love envelop Tissues.

Pan Daijing is an artist and a musician. Her raw approach as a composer and as a performer takes a variety of forms. She works mainly with sound, movement, installation and narration. Soul-bearing utterances as well as sonic and aesthetic bursts are the main marks of her practice. Her poetic and strange work interweaves symbols of power and vulnerability, and often includes as many paradoxical conceptual states as it does interactions with space.
