IN RESIDENCY: ARISANDMARTHA COMPANY
Flux Laboratory will welcome greek company Arisandmartha from 14th of November to 1st of March 2019 to work on her new project Lucy.tutorial for a ritual.
Lucy. tutorial for a ritual is a dance performance developed around the constructed event of a contemporary, ‘fake’, make-belief ritual. Getting its title from the famous, controversial female Australopithecus discovered in Ethiopia, the work is ‘digging’ its way through a series of liminoid actions and events unravelling an ambiguous world of potentiality.
Halfway between ape and man, consciousness and ecstasy, Lucy.tutorial for a ritual explores the notion of liminality and disorientation occuring in a transitional space/time frame, in-between states, questioning what a contemporary 2018 ritual might be.
