IN RESIDENCY: ANTONIN RIOCHE
Flux Laboratory is pleased to welcome for the second time around dancer-choreographer Antonin Rioche, who will be working on his new creation "The Others". His residency in Geneva will also be the occasion of organising a screening of his film “OhBoy!”, which he realised following the performance he presented in preview on January 26, 2018 at Flux Laboratory.
For his first solo “OhBoy!”, Antonin Rioche worked on the feeling of loneliness: this feeling is well-known among dancers who often travel alone, going from one hotel to another, drowned in airport crowds. Solitude in its essence, and not as a feeling, the type of solitude society forces us to reject."OhBoy!" is an experience that reminds you of all the times you felt lonely.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the dancer and choreographer, to share and exchange feelings around the topic: "From our relation to loneliness, to our relation to the other, to the others”. He will explain the personal connection he sees between "OhBoy!" and his next creation "The Others".
